Do you look up toward the skies when you hear an airplane ? Are you envious of the guys sitting upfront with the best view as the world passes by below ? Do you feel great emotions when the engines unleash their full power down the runway ? Do you want to feel free like an eagle soaring thru the blue heaven with no boundaries ? If so then you have what it takes to be a pilot.
The long path to be one requires tremendous amount of knowledge, training and patience but most importantly passion. Lots of it !
You don’t have to be an expert in physics or mathematics like a lot of people suggests but it does require some advanced notions in various fields including those two previously mentioned. That is where passion comes in. If you really want to achieve the necessary credentials to make it in the aviation industry, you will need a lot of it to surmount the roadblocks and difficulties you will encounter not only during all the required trainings, but also during your entire career.
You will have to push yourself continuously to better your skills, both outside and inside the airplanes and every so often you will be asked by your instructor, your future company and the Federal Aviation Administration to demonstrate them. You will have to face demanding challenges and be asked to make the right choices by exercising sound judgment proving you have what it takes to be responsible for precious lives and cargo aboard your flying machine.
Once you have been hired by an airline, you will face the harsh reality of working long hours, being away from home more than half the month while earning a minimum wage income for the next few years and hoping that the industry remains stable enough to allow you to climb the ladder high enough to finaly reach your final and ultimate destination.
